Unleashing my fatshion world to my Facebook family

I can't believe I am finally going to do this. For the past 6 months, I can probably say I have been on a bit of a journey (rolling my eyes) hehe, but that is the best word for it. I have always been a lover of fashion, I wouldn't call myself Fashion forward more Fashion adjacent. I have always loved colours and I must admit I have been surrounded by Wahine Maori who love to look fabulous and I can honestly say that Fashion has been my friend at every size I have been. Too many who know me may think that I was very confident in who I was because I always looked like it and talked like I was, I think a lot of you will also know that I am not afraid to speak my mind when it comes to important issues, anyway (stop blabbering).

I am sure at any size, women and men love the feel of a new outfit and I think we can agree that a new outfit can make one feel absolutely fabulous and some days not so fabulous. Last year in my search to find a niche in the blogging industry I came across some Fashion blogs by very inspirational ladies. Inspirational because they weren't your normal Supermodel SIZE 0, they were REAL WOMEN, they were ladies with curves, muffin tops, double chins, rolls (spare tyres), thunder thighs, yep they were ladies like me. I always thought I had good taste and I admit at times I was a little cocky about it, but the more I read these, what I have come to know as FATSHION blogs,  the more I became inspired by these ladies to challenge the boundaries and break the rules.

What boundaries and rules you may be thinking? FASHION RULES! Since I was a size 12 (at the tender age of 13 lol) I have always considered myself to be TOO FAT to wear a BIKINI and so does society because you can't buy a Size 26 bikini in any New Zealand store to date.

But check Gabi out from GABIFRESH (http://www.gabifresh.com/), sporting her STRIPED BIKINI, at a NZ Size 20. Another rule for FAT LADIES is to never wear HORIZONTAL stripes because it makes you look wider, well she's broken TWO major "IF YOUR FAT, DON'T WEAR ....... " Rules and she looks HOT, Bikini by MonifC.

Doesn't she look fabulous. I can read all your thoughts now, your probably thinking " she doesn't even have strecthmarks" or "she doesn't have any wobbly bits", believe me ladies they are there just like yours and mine, she just doesn't care. (plus she has had practice at taking photos) . That is an NZ size 20 lady in a bikini.

I actually think these TOGS are ugly, but it wasn't about what they looked like that day.

Each day I am breaking down walls, I haven't worn a bikini yet, TOGS at a Public beach YES, all summer at WAIHOPAI and on WAITANGI DAY 2013, Army Bay hehe and even at the local POOL yall and you want to know something, no one even cared!! I didn't that is for sure. I am yet to find a bikini I like and when I do I will rock that BIKINI like there is no tomorrow, my goodness to think what I have been restricting myself for all these years just really bums out, no more shorts and singlets for me.

It has been FATSHION bloggers like Gabbi that have given me the courage and believe me it takes A LOT OF COURAGE at the time to try new styles and cuts, break rules and to challenge those boundaries. You may be wondering why the heck I am bothering to write this SHORT STORY hehe, These ladies have also given me the courage to start my own FATSHION Blog that I have been adding to and posting to for the past month, some of you will have noticed some of the photo's I have been taking for a while. I still feel like an amateur, I am still testing things, it is all trial and error, but I wanted to let you all in on a "NOT SO LITTLE SECRET" anymore, I really am the happiest I have been for a very long, long, long, long time. Putting this blog together I have already achieved what I set out to do, my wish now is that I hope to inspire other gorgeous and curvacious ladies to do the same.

YOU ALL KNOW that our own whanau, friends and community are your most harsh CRITICS right, a lot of the time it's not Constructive criticism, especially when you are attempting to do something as DIFFERENT and as UNHEARD of as this, well that is why it has taken me a whole month to finally work the courage up to put this link up. Right now I am taking part in an OUTFIT PHOTO CHALLENGE called AUSSIE CURVES, where ladies are given a theme a week and we are suppose to take photo's of our themed outfit and post them to our blogs. So here it is!!

Winter Blues Moan

Boy oh boy do I have the Winter Blues and it is not even Winter yet. I really have been a bit slack this last month.

My husband has been in Wellington for almost two months now and to be honest it is really quite depressing him being away for so long. Plus he is my main photographer anyway one more week and he shall be home.

I have had heaps of amazing outfits this last month and I haven't even been able to snap any shots of them. I may have to have a fashion show when my husband gets home, just so that I can get these gorgeous outfits up on here. I really do despise the 'SELFIE' shot, I don't like them one bit.

I may have to look in it too buying my a proper camera with and stand and timer, so that I don't need anyone to take photos for me, so if anyone has some suggestions please share.

Along with having the 'Winter Blues' before Winter, I am going to have a bit of a moan. We are a small country and our options are limited when it comes to Plus-size shopping!

So KMART, what is happening will your Plus size collection, what happened to yous?? I have some amazing pieces from you's, but all I have to say at the moment is a huge BOOOOO!!!! Ugly, Ugly, Ugly!!!

FARMERS, WILD CHILD , Oh my goodness, move with the times, I use to get some amazing pieces from you's too, what has happened?????? It is all UGLY, UGLY AND UGLY and has been for quite sometime now. Do you seriously think women in New Zealand are getting smaller!! Is it becoming too costly to produce Plus-sized clothing, answers please, give your faithful customers some answers. It is so annoying that I can't rely on either of these stores to find a nice outfit to step out it. If I was size 16 maybe!! but I am not and I am not the only one in New Zealand COME ON!!!

EZIBUY, SARA, Come on, get some new stuff in already and give us another STORE, that is why you don't sell them, it's because you don't have enough stores, even though I love shopping online, I like a Mall fix or two every week as well. These are three stores I use to shop at religiously, because the prices were good and they USE to have GOOD TASTE, NOT ANYMORE, I am absolutely horrfied at the state all of there Plus-size collections are in!! Jingas first post back and all I am doing is moaning hehe. Sorry about it I just had to get it out there. Because I have been totally unispired by my usual haunts.

On a more happy note, I am really loving City Chic these past few months, Plus I wanted to give a big SHOUT OUT to all the Staff members at City Chic St Lukes, you all make shopping that extra bit fun, Thank you, thank you, thank you all soo much. :)
