About Margaret-Rose

Kia Ora,
Well you should all know my name by now, it definitely is Margaret-Rose, I couldn’t think of what else I could call my blog at the time, so seeing as it was going to be about me I thought I would state the obvious.

Me, myself and I
I am Te Rarawa, I am Ngāpuhi, I am Māori and I have been married for two years now. My husband and I are only a month apart in age and we are both turning 28 this year. I am from Aotearoa
, New Zealand, born and bred in the Hokianga and I am now living in Auckland and I look after my three teenage nephews and I love having them with me. I am a Librarian and I must admit I really do love my job, I work in the Research and Heritage team and love being able to help patrons research their Whakapapa (Family History), as researching my own Whakapapa is truly is a passion of my own.
Fatshion
I love fashion and believe I have great fashion sense, something I say is inherited, as my mother and her sisters have been fabulous fashionistas at every size they have been. I am currently a size 26 yes that is right 26, I cannot believe it myself sometimes. In saying that I have never been more comfortable, fashion wise at this size then I was three sizes smaller, purely because of the inspirational fatshion bloggers, I have been following for the last six months. This is why I decided to start my very own Fatshion Blog!
Healthier Me
Even though I have stated above that I am comfortable as I am at this size, I know it is not good for me and the doctors say the same thing as well. At the end of 2012 I made a promise that I would start doing something about it, believe me I have tried so many diets, but like many others, I end up gaining extra poundage once the novelty wears off.
So a long with my sisters and my work mates, we have decided to live healthier lives, eat better, make better food choices and exercise more and do it gradually, because for me really it has to be about changing my lifestyle. So I have also set up page on my blog to track this journey as well. Slowly but surely is the motto.

My Vintage self
I love hokohoko shopping, which is just a Māori way of saying op-shopping. Who doesn’t love the thrill of a bargain hunt, well I know I do. I have started collecting certain vintage items that I have fallen in love with, these are Colour Glaze Crown Lynn, the colours are amazing and I love the sturdiness of Crown Lynn, plus good quality pottery is great for Tea parties. I am also collecting the Green and Blue Hornsea Heirloom sets, plus I have a small collection of enamel teapots because I have to have one in every colour hehe. So if you want to see some of my bargains check out my ‘I heart hokohoko shopping’ blog. It is a bit outdated, but I have a whole six months worth of bargain hunting to blog about now.

I am so excited about this Blog, I am suppose to be blogging at work and it was suggested by a colleague that I start a personal blog, I think I could be in love with blogging already. Keep it locked right here with Margaret-Rose.

Love and Light xox
