OOTD - City Chic Dresses

My goodness I feel like a City Chic Bitch, CC sales have been amazing this summer and I am in love with how the dresses are looking on me.

I had loads of fun in today's outfit. But I must admit I hate wearing white I am so conscious of getting it dirty.

I rocked my dress boleroless today and I love how the sun and breeze kiss my gorgeous arms lol.
Unfortunately the photos were crap as I had to use my iPad. I have done the best I could do with them but, still they were crap. I will wear this outfit again one day an take proper photos promise.

Pop goes the Cherry - ASOS Curve

Three cheers for me please! I have just made my first ASOS Curve purchase online. So far the comments I have heard from first time buyers here in NZ, have been bad ones. This is due to the fit, some of them were to big and others not big enough, I have ordered my normal size and I am crossing my fingers they fit.

I have bought three items that I thought I wouldn’t be able to live without, only because I have seen them on other Fatshion divas and they look so fabulous on them, I am hoping I will be able to pull the look off myself.

The website says it will take 14 days to get to me I don’t mind how long it takes really as the delivery is free!

Below are the items I have purchased. I hope the Leggings aren’t too loose and I do hope the Peplum fits like a gem. They are all dark items that I can’t wait to wear. I already know what I will be ordering next, it’s just the sizing that’s holding me back.

Leggings with Embellished Panel

Leggings with Holographic Panel

Top with Lace Bodice Peplum

14 Days and counting.

OOTD – Dark – Aussie Curves Catch-ups

This is probably as ‘DARK’ as it will get for me, other then when I attend a Tangi (funeral) which is the only time I really wear Dark Clothing. Don’t get me wrong I do have my fair share of Dark Clothing, but I always have a splash of Colour somewhere.

As we are having beautiful weather here in Auckland City, I didn’t want to get to Dark, so even though it’s dark I am still rocking a little bit of colour.

This dress I have just snatched up recently from City Chic, this outfit is a bit of a ‘Breaking the rules’ outfit for me, well ‘Breaking MY OWN rules outfit’ I have never really liked the look of ‘Handkerchief Hems’ on dresses or skirts, but as it was on SALE, I decided to try it on. Well didn’t I get a surprise! I must admit I love the way it looks on me and I love wearing it, but I can’t say it is one of my favourites. I have been given a lot of compliments about this outfit, so it makes me feel good too hehe.

How terrible, this dress has everything going for it and it’s still not one of my favourites, one day maybe! I have to apologise for the terrible full body shots, the light outside was a bit too much and then the breeze was too strong, so these were the best I could do for today.

I must admit I am loving my shoes!!

The necklace is what we call a 'Hei Tiki' the pendant being a 'tiki' and the 'hei' being the action word of tying aroung the neck. Gorgeous colour isn't it, this was a Valentines day present from my husband, bought at the Okahu Bay, Waitangi Day Celebrations 2008.

Overall I must admit this outfit is very comfortable to wear, nice and cool for the Summer, the Wedges so light and easy to walk in. I usually rock this without a bolero, but as I don't have a black bra on today, I haven't given you all a look at the detail on the back of the dress.

OOTD - Orange - Aussie Curves Catch-ups

If there is one thing I love about being a librarian it is being free to dress as you please. There are no strict rules and no dress codes, I think the only expectation is that we dress tidy. There maybe expectations from the public about what librarians should be dressed like, as the normal idea of a librarian is usually an old lady who wears glasses and walks around telling everyone to be quiet.

Libraries are changing all over the world and so are the librarians. This is great for me as I get to be as fashionable as I want to be and never feel out of place. Sadly today's photos were not taken at the library as I didn't have my phone on me. So when I dropped my nephew off to boarding school this afternoon I got some photos taken of my outfit under the trees outside of his dorm. Luckily they were all at dinner. But I was still fast because it was too hot to stand around and I didn't want to embarrass my nephew if they came back hehe.

Now my outfit of the day was planned and deliberate, I have been on holiday for six weeks and today was my first day back. My outfit planned because I wanted to do a Catch up Aussie Curves post as well. I will continue to do this until I have caught up, the added bonus is that I will have a reason to post on my blog everyday. Yay!!!

I love this dress it is a great Summer dress, nice and cool and I am a big fan of chiffon in the Summer months. I also really love this combination of Orange and Blue, I know the challenge was Orange but I thought these Blue accents just gave it that something extra.

Aussie Curves - The Color Purple

Hi all,
This is my first Aussie Curves post and I just wanted to say it is truly because of all you fabulous ladies (participants) that I have got the confidence to start this Blog. I'm not sure if I was suppose to register properly somewhere, please do let me know if I need too. Thank you all so much again, you's truly inspire me to take my love of fashion to the next level. So here goes!

The Color Purple loved the movie, but the colour is not something I have a lot of in my wardrobe. So I had to settle with a colour that I would call purple, but it has a pinky tone to it as well.

My husband took me out to dinner last weekend and so I thought I would kill two birds with one stone. My husband took the photos and I must admit that it really was a barrel of laughs for both of us, I am not use to taking photos, I usually shy away from a camera, so posing for these photos was I must admit difficult. But we managed to get some shots that I think are fine.

I loved the colour combination. Purple and Teal/Aqua.

I then thought I would play around with some of the APPS available on my Ipad and that was a lot of fun too.

Dress - TCD - The Carpenters Daughter - Gifted - Size 5
Shoes - Number One Shoe Warehouse - Size 10
Flower - Diva

I am already looking forward to next weeks challenge. Please let me know if there is more I need to do (technically) as I am just starting out.

Sweet Inspiration for 2013

Kia Ora,

My name is Margaret-Rose and for the last six months I have been an avid reader of fatshion blogs from all over the world. Talk about a phat load of inspiration, I myself am a NZ Size 26 probably going on 28 but at the moment I am still finding it hard to except that fact. These women and their confidence to try new and different styles and cuts and look HOOTTTT!!! have given me the inspiration to do the same. At times 'Breaking the Rules' is exactly what is needed.

I have always been a lover of fashion and I'm not scared to say that even though I am juicy and curvacious all the way around I always dress to kill and I will pay as much as I can afford too for the perfect outfit for the perfect occasion. I mean most women love to shop, but you can't buy taste. My great fashion sense was definitely passed down, my mum and her sisters are very fashionable women and no matter what size they are they are always on trend and looking fabulous.

Even though this is so, as I said 'Breaking the Rules' is exactly what is needed, I have never been able to tell exactly what shape I am, Am I an Apple? Am I a Pear? Who knows! All I know is these fatshion blogs have given me the inspiration to do things I wouldn't normally do. For example; as a plus-size women I hate my knees, they are are thick and look like trunks, but since I had the confidence to walk around in togs well camping this summer, I got my 'Black on" (tan) I am the same colour from top to bottom and I have been wearing skirts and dresses above my knees and feel so confident in doing so.

So yes I suppose this Blog is the beginning of something fantastic, my very own FATSHION blog. Which is actually Quite funny, I don't know if it was because I made a decision last year to start doing something about my weight, because health wise it isn't looking good, is it just a copp out?because I must admit that I am so comfortable at this weight right now, I feel like I am happy, but is it just an excuse, who know's this is something I will have to find out as the year goes on.

Before I leave my introduction outfit,

Jacket - City Chic - XL
Dress - City Chic - XL
Bracelet - City Chic
Ring - Diva
Shoes - Garage - Size 9

This is only the beginning.
