Aussie Curves - Animalistic

This weeks Aussie Curves Outfit Photo Challenge theme is ANIMALISTIC. Well what can I say we are so lucky that Animal skin prints are back in again, we are also very lucky to be able to pick up gorgeous Animalistic garments everywhere these days. Last year I had so much of it I got a little sick of it and got rid of quite a few pieces. What I have in my closet now is either very recent additions or pieces that I just couldn't part with.

For this challenge I have gone with a Pencil Skirt that I purchased from City Chic about a month ago now, black tee is from Kmart, what I quite into is my cute accesories I have chosen for this out fit, my gorgeous little belt from Kmart as well and my necklace which was another from Diva. I also tried to go for a smoky, cat looking eye, I am no good at doing make-up and that was my first attempt at it, then I totally forgot to put some lip gloss on, anyway I managed to get some photos I like, so.....

I hope you like.

OOTD - Pretty Pink Shoes

Oh how I love my shoes!!! Obviously I have some shoes I want to show off. If I am going to be honest, I have never been one to wear heels and that includes wedges, although I have always loved the look of them, I was never comfortable in them. I think it was more of an excuse now, I was blaming my weight on not being able to even wear wedges. BUT hey, hey, hey it turns out I am an ultimate wedge wearer and now owner hehe.

If you have been keeping tuned to my blog, you will have noticed that I have a little collection of wedges now and that is definitely a recent collection, pretty much in the last 6 months anyway.

I bought this pair of shoes at the end of last year for my end of the year xmas party, but I didn't end up wearing them as we ended up going with a theme. I had put them away in a shoe bag and thought I had lost them and I couldn't remember where I put that shoe bag. I was totally devastated.

Last week, I found them they had been sitting in the boot of my car and I was so relieved to see that bag and because they are so comfy I decided to wear them to work today.

Aren't these shoes just gorgeous. I love them!! So that was my outfit for the day, I think there is some repeat offenders in this outfit, but hey REAL PEOPLE do the same!

Aussie Curves - Black & White

Aussie Curves Photo Challenge  - Black and White

aussieoutfit-08

I am back this week and Black and White is this weeks theme for the Aussie Curves Photo Challenge. For a long time I have thought that this combination of Black and White for day wear was boring, risky, and that it was probably best left for elegant and classy Black and White cocktail parties.

I have always been about the splash of colour everywhere, which is why I am really loving the "Colour Blocking" trend. However the recent "Black and White" trend I have to say has got me excited for the first time and I am loving all the Black and White pieces I have seen on the ASOS website and the City Chic website as well.

Obviously these photos are my Black and White look for the week. I think it's quite smart and something I am able to wear to work without looking like a waitress.

Bye Bye B@#$*h

Still suffering the after effects of a fantastic Conference last week, though it was inspirational and a whole lot of fun, I have some how ended up with the flu, in the middle of our Summer. All this lying around, has given me a chance to do a little reflecting.

Another OOTD from Conference Last week. This has to be my favourite dress, I especially love all the colours.

Yes I am a size 24-26 and I love every bit of me and I think it shows. Last weeks Conference was the first I have intended since I since I decided that enough was enough and that it was about time for me to accept me and all my glorious flab as it is.

Ever since then it has been the best thing I could ever do for me, it is like an invisible veil has been lifted. I say this because the response I was getting from both women and men was different to what it has been like for me at past Conference's I have attended, this time it all seemed so much easier, which was a huge surprise because I always thought that my confidence level was pretty high, but this time around that barrier has been busted down. It's a little hard to explain, but this is how I explained it to my workmate, "I must have had 'BITCH' written across my forehead all these years and since I have turned a page in my new book, I am now approachable".

It's crazy to think it must have been me, for years I have always thought it was everyone else that had the problem. Don't get me wrong there are a few still out there, but I know for sure it won't be me any more. Because I am still loving every bit of me, flab and all.

Has this happened to you?

Night and Day at Conference

I have truly returned to work, last week was so busy, I had a talk to give and then a Work Conference took up the rest of my week. I am quickly learning how dedicated I need to be to get regular posts up on my blog. Although I had fun with my outfits last week, I had little time to get photos of my outfits and I didn't even get a chance to take part in last weeks, Aussie Curves challenge. : (

Even though I had a busy week, the conference was absolutely amazing, inspiring even. It also provided  me with great opportunities to pull out some of my dresses I have been wanting to wear and post on here, now I am definitely in two minds about whether I should post these pathetic photos, these dresses are so beautiful and it almost feels like I am not doing them any justice. Yes the photos are very poor quality, I ended up doing 'selfies' which I absolutely hate to do, but I had to snap myself in some of these amazing dresses and outfits because I felt absolutely gorgeous in these dresses.

These dresses are very similar in style and the cut I love on me because I feel that it gives an illusion that my stomach is smaller then it actually is and as I am loving my legs these days, in this style dress they look fantastic.

I tell you, when more fuller figured women realise that all they need is a great bra to give them a waste and most importantly some shape a lot more women would feel a lot happier with how they look when they go to things such as Cocktail events and formal dinners.

I hope you all like the outfits, huge apologies about the photos, but as I said I felt great in the dresses and I am going to post them even if the photos are shitty.

This first outfit I bought to wear at a Wedding I went to at the end of last year, I have been itching to wear it again, I love the colour and so do many others, I actually done a double banger of this outfit last week, I wore this to the Cocktail Part at Conference last Wednesday night and I also wore it on Sunday at another cousins wedding. I love, love, love this dress.

OOTD - Picnic - Aussie Curves Catch-ups

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend, not only is this post going to be a Aussie Curves Catch-up today, it's actually a Blog catch-up post as well. So today's outfit is my Picnic outfit, when I first saw this on the list I thought that is totally crazy, why do people dress up for picnics, then soon after I thought to myself, yes I am definitely one of those people. I admit I never use to be as a Picnic is usually about the food and the scenery, but I do.

Why? because I love picnics, it's a great opportunity to get outdoors and do something especially when the weather is fantastic, take a ball or some stale bread to feed the ducks, it's a chance for me to pull out my vintage picnic set that I absolutely neglected to take any photos of. Sadly I didn't take any photos when we went on our picnic, I only remembered to when I got home.

Today's outfit was very simple, a maxi dress with horizontal stripes, totally against all the rules taught to me about choosing the right patterns for my body shape, but I love this dress and it loves me hehe. I love material because it'stretch and comfortable. The necklace I bought from a place called Origin, my pink zebra striped jandals and a teal cardi because it was a little nippy.

Necklace -  Origin
Watch - Takapuna market
Jandals - Capture

FREE Delivery Worldwide - Love ASOS Curve

My first order has arrived, it has taken 9 working days to get to me here in Auckland, my anxious worries about the fit of the clothes has ended. The Lace peplum fits like a glove, it's perfect as for the leggings, I could probably go down one size, but are fine as they are. If you want to check out my first order here is the link (Pop goes the cherry - ASOS Curves ). I will remember that for the next order, well the one after the order I put through last Thursday.

Here's a sneak peek of what I will be expecting in my next shopping haul from ASOS Curve. Got to love Free Shipping, otherwise I wouldn't do it in such small doses.

I must admit that I am quite nervous about the Pencil skirt, but after taking some advice and great review from Rebecca of The plus side of me I had to give them a go and this could be the first of many.

Have fun shopping!!!

Waitangi Day Special - New Dress Tradition

For those who don't know, Waitangi Day is a national public holiday, similar to Australia Day, it is definitely a CELEBRATION DAY for our family and we always like to do something family orientated. Whether it be going to Waitangi for the day and enjoying the many events that have been prepared or just plain going for a picnic somewhere.

Today we decided to head to Army Bay for the day, SUN, BEACH, FOOD, SUN, FOOD, BEACH. It was a fantastic day, remembering that we have been so lucky to be blessed with a day off in the middle of the week, it was awesome down time for all of us.

I felt I needed to do a special post of the day, purely because I have noticed that for the past five years I have bought a new dress for every Waitangi Day, it's sort of a tradition I started for myself hehe. Just another reason to go shopping hehehe I suppose. I wish I had photos of every outfit I have had for the past five Waitangi Day Celebrations. Is this something you do maybe? Do you buy a new outfit for a annual celebration?

So this is my dress I bought especially for Waitangi, I hope you all like it!

Aussie Curves - Swimwear

#summer fun #summer love
I have just returned to work this week after 6 weeks off and I must admit that the favourite part of my holiday was the week we spent camping at Waihopai. Beach, white sand, seafood, fishing and creeks there was no need to run away to and Island when paradise is right in my hometown’s backyard. There are many reasons why I loved camping, but one of the most interesting and exciting things for me this summer was that I was rocking swimwear everyday, I know it was only my family around, but that is big for me, I haven’t rocked togs without shorts for almost 20 years.

Oh my goodness, I can’t begin tell to you how great it felt, it definitely explains the reason I am sporting a fabulous tan from head to toe and is also the reason I have been wearing dresses above my chunky knees that I use to hate. There was no point in trying to make a fashion statement with the togs I was wearing, as I opted for plain black togs and a vibrant blue pair as well. Point being, I have I rocked togs again, I loved it and I’m going to do again and again.

As I have said already, if it wasn’t for all the fatshion blogs out there, I probably would have suffered through camping sporting shorts and a singlet, maybe a Pareu (sarong), but it was these blog posts from Gabifresh that inspired me to go with it - Fatkini 2012 and Every body is a bikini body Check them out. HOT! HOT! HOT!

So back to this week’s Aussie Curves Photo Challenge, I have opted to go with a Tankini, that is not flattering at all really, it doesn't give me any shape, but I had a wonderful day today at the beach with my family, I enjoyed taking the photos, I really let it all hang out, I mustered up the courage to rock my Tankini as it was, no Sheer Coverall, no board shorts, just me and my Tankini.

The beach was gorgeous and I had a blast walking about and swimming in my Tankini.

This is how I chose to end my day in this outfit.

OOTD - Cotton and Boots - Aussie Curves Catch-up

Happy Cotton Anniversary to me!!

This has to be one of my favourite Wedding photos, we are doing a 'hongi' a traditional Maori custom. A lot of people tend to get his wrong in photos and at times looks too staged, however I think this is perfect, natural and the love is definitely overflowing in this shot.

Two years is huge these days, I look forward to many more.

Even thought yesterday was a special day for me the weather was horrible here in Auckland, grey skys and it was windy, so this called for a totally different look. I have been wearing a lot of dresses this Summer and to be honest I haven't had so many dresses I have loved to be able to choose and wear a different one everyday for two to three weeks, so I have been enjoying it.

Yesterday's look was far from a dress, but I did want to show off my $5 boots, I'm a boots girl for sure, I love them short boots, tall boots, medium boots lol, but I have never had YELLOW boots, or paid $5 for a pair either. I noticed boots was also on my Aussie Curves catch up list sooooo, VOILA!!!

Obviously I'm at work, I got my workmate to take some shots this time. So I felt like I was really rocking this look yesterday. I love this BLUE peplum jacket from City Chic I have the same jacket in four different colours, they are great for work. I decided to dark chiffon layers down the middle, but a bit of bling at the top with my necklace and I love the fact that the buttons break the darkness a bit and my gorgeous YELLOW boots. The are definitely not everyone's cuppa tea, but they do look gorgeous one and sometimes you just have to know how to wear them.

The boots were cheap because they were on the faulty table, they had a few black scuff marks on the suede, but it didn't take much to brush the scuff marks out. Absolute bargain.

Jacket - City Chic
Black Chiffon button Top - Wild Child
Chiffon tunic - City Chic
Black Leggings - Wild Child
Boots - Rubi
Necklace - Diva

Last but not least, a big shout out to my handsome husband. I love you so much.

OOTD - Red - Aussie Curves Catch-up

RED DRESS SPECIAL!

I should say now that Red isn't really one of my favourite colours to wear, I have only just gotten use to wearing Red lipstick. Today's weather here in Auckland is tragic, it's been raining all day, I planned to go to the pools today with my nephews, because the weather has been fantastic summer weather, so apart from going for a swim, I also wanted to get some shots for this weeks challenge by the pool, but it ain't happening today or tomorrow, so it will have to wait for Wednesday, which is a public holiday for us here.

So what did I do on my day off, I went shopping, to the mall and then this afternoon to do some grocery shopping and it just so happens I was able to use this outfit for an Aussie Curves catch-up post as well.

Another one of City Chic's beautiful creations, it definitely has a Pin Up look to it. The bolero, was not my first choice to wear with this beautiful dress and my shoes I absolutely am in love with my shoes, I know you's would have seen these in a few posts already, but they are so comfortable.

So here goes my RED DRESS SPECIAL,

Dress - City Chic
Bolero - Concept
Shoes - Number One Shoe Warehouse
Satchel - Equip

Hope you are all having a wonderful day.

OOTN - LBD - Aussie Curves Catch-up

The little black dress, I was so excited about doing this post. The classic LBD suprisingly has only found it's way into my wardrobe within the last six months. My understanding of what is considered to an LBD is all about simple elegance and can make a women feel sexy as soon as she has put on the dress.

The perfect occasion came on Saturday, my husband and I were invited to a 21st birthday that was held on a boat down the Viaduct, the setting was so pretty and so right for my chosen OOTN.

I went with the Capture Woman dress that I only bought at the beginning of December 2012. I sexed it up a little with the tan belt from City Chic with a gold buckle, so cute it definitely helped me acquire that bit of extra shape I was after.

The Lime green accents just gave me the extra va,va, voom for the night, it was a great night.

As for the photo's once again the quality of them is pretty tragic and it was a bit of a pitty then it was getting to dark to take my photos and then the battery went flat on me, I really need to invest in a good camera.

Here is my Little Black Dress outfit,

Dress - Capture Woman
Necklance/ Earrings - Diva
Belt - City Chic
Bracelet - Pandora
Shoes - Overland
Clutch - Gifted

I hope you all had a great Saturday night, I know I did.

OOTD - Stripes - Aussie Curves Catch-ups

It's Friday and my first week back at work for 2013 is almost all done in dusted I finished the week in Stripes. I had fun this dress today and I am definitely warming up to the camera. My husband is getting better as well.

I chose this outfit because it was fun and well I am loving my above the knee dresses this week, I had a few options for this theme and I tried them all on, but the others were not working for me so here goes.

Jacket / dress - City Chic
Shoes - The Number One Shoe Warehouse
Necklace / Bangles - Virtu
Glasses - Rubi

I had to add the jacket because I love a splash of colour, but mainly because it was a bit chilly this morning, otherwise I would rock it without the jackets.

So that is my stripes look for today.
