OOTD - The baroque print skirt

It was so easy just to do black on black with this gorgeous baroque print skirt by City Chic, but decided to throw another colour in there and I feel like I did it justice.
I have been wanting to do an OOTD post with this skirt for so long and I finally had a chance to do it yesterday.

I went into work for one of our Matariki events yesterday at the library and this was the outfit I quickly put together.  I had a whole other outfit prepared for my Aussie Curves Colour Clash post, but it didnt work out so its back to the drawing board with that one.

So this was my OOTD;

Skirt - City Chic
Jacket/ Stockings - City Chic
Sheer top - Sara
Boots - Cotton On
Watch - Michael Kors
Bracelets - Equip
Earings - Equip

Love and light xox.

How did you style your braoque print skirt?

Aussie Curves - Pink

This week it is all about being pretty in PINK :)

I love bright colours and Pink is definitely a colour that features a lot in my wardrobe. I can't say it's one of my favourite colours, but I gravitate towards this colour always.

Because I have so much PINK to pick from, it made it hard to pick what I wanted to wear, so I decided to go with the newest PINK items I have recently added to my wardrobe and today it's all about the accessories.
So lets start off with the Pink stockings, I love these Stockings, so gorgeously bright and they are sure to get some attention wherever I go. I got these from the WE LOVE COLORS website, they are great quality and comfortable, they don't slip down at all and I have had these for at least two months. I love the fact that they are totally Opaque and I love that I get to wear some funky coloured stockings this winter.

My dress and jacket are repeat blog offenders, but I should say that since I got this dress it has been my GO TOO dress, I love it is my most favourite BUY of this year.

Both of these bangles I bought from TS14 and the earrings I got from my mum aren't they just cute.

I have to say thanks to my Sister as these boots belong to her, I couldn't find my own boots I was going to wear, but these are totally comfortable. I love this seasons boots and the thick heels too.

Jacket - Asos Curve
Dress - City Chic
Boots - Kmart
Stockings/tights/hoisery - We love colors
Bangles - TS14+
Earrings - Gifted
Watch - Michael Kors

So that is my PINK outfit this week, I hope you like.

Love and Light xox.

Michael Kors Addict

I thought I should share.

Ok, I am officially a Michael Kors addict, please someone sort things out, I don't know how I am going to handle this addiction, anything Michael Kors here in New Zealand is so expensive. The beautiful handbags, purses and my personal favourite at the moment Michael Kors watches. Thankfully the two Michael Kors pieces I do have I got for a very good price for New Zealand standards anyway. Less then half the NZ retail price, I know who's shocked, because I certainly was, I was jumping up and down literally at Smith and Caughey's when she told me the Sale Price.

Number One:

Michael Kors Madison Chronograph Faux Horn Womens Watch MK5558

Number Two:

Michael Kors Men's Runway Rose-Tone Watch MK8096

Everywhere I look online these same watches are around the NZ$500 - NZ$700 mark, way too expensive for me unfortunately so I can only wait until they are on Sale. I have been trying to look for places where I can order them online and I really want to try ordering them from Amazon, but everyone I know here in New Zealand who has ordered from Amazon in the past have only ever ordered Books or DVDs.

If any New Zealanders who have tried ordering anything other then books from Amazon please let me know how you got on, even if you have any general information about how I can get myself some Michael Kors wears for a better price. I will have to do a dummy run one day.

Aussie Curves - Metallic

Kia ora to my fellow Aussie Curvettes,
Yes I am back, it has been way too long, but I am back up in the mix and hopefully I am here to stay for the rest of the challenges, I will be doing a lot of Catch up posts for everyone to check out too, so please do subscribe or take some time out and check me out.

Of all weeks to return, I come back the METALLIC week, metallic items of clothing have not found there way into my wardrobe often in the past, until very recently, both times they came in the form of leggings and I have been dying to wear them somewhere but there hasn't been an occasion to wear them, so what did I do I wore them to work lol. That's the fun thing about working in a Library we have the freedom to dress the way we want too, of course we have to be tidy, but it doesn't stop us from having fun with fashion.

After all of that it isn't the leggings on display today for Metallic week, I have a dress that I have worn a couple of times, I admit I love the fabric, but the fit isn't the best on me, but I couldn't bring myself to send it back. Those of you who shop at ASOS would have come across this dress and I admit that I didn't realise that there was metallic threads through the dress when I ordered it. (Yep, so you know how often I read the finer details). Anyway I love it, I would wear it more often if the fit was better, so today I decided to rock this dress again for the third time since I bought it.

aussieoutfit-08-600x112

Because it's a little more short then I would prefer, I'm rocking it with some Opaque black stockings/tights and because of the extra nip in the air I have put some fishnet stockings of them as well.

Yes you may have noticed I am taking the photos with my iPad and I they are selfies, so I did the best I could. It's getting dark quite early here in Auckland, so by the time I get home its too dark to take any photos and it's too cold as well.

aussieoutfit-08-600x112

So I chose to accessorise my outfit with more Metallic jewellery and these gorgeous maroon suede booties by Pulp, they are so comfortable too.

Dress - Asos Curve
Booties - Pulp at Hannahs
Ring - City Chic
Bracelet - Diva
Earrings - Equip

I am so glad to finally be back my fellow Curvettes.

Happy Birthday OOTD 2013

Hello Everyone,

Well yesterday was my birthday and after two weeks of full on horrible Winter weather,FREEZING COLD TEMPERATURES, RAIN, THUNDER STORMS and miserable GREY SKIES, we had a beautiful sunny day, there was still a pinch in the air, but it was fabulous to wake up to the warm delicious SUN shining through my bedroom windows, I knew it was going to be the beginning of a fabulous day.

Apart from waking up to the delicious Sun, I had some presents waiting for me on my bedside table, now I should tell you that this isn't a usual occurance for me. My husband is wonderful, but to be honest he has never really done gifts that well, although he has bought me things in the past that I have loved, he hasn't ever really bought me a birthday present I didn't already know about it before, even though I spied out some pamphlets that weren't mine, I still really wasn't that sure and I wasn't going to get my hopes up. hehehe

So of course I gave him some cuddles before having a look at them, he has only bought me jewellery one other time which was a necklace and I love it and still have it, I have worn it in another OOTD post.

First present was from Michael Hill Jewellers, some Rose Gold twisted hoop earrings to go with my Rose Gold Michael Kors Watch that I already bought myself for my birthday hehe and............................

these new Pandora charms and clips for my bracelet, so originally I only had six charms, I have been quite slack with my Pandora bracelet, but my husband doubled the amount in one birthday, thanks my darling. I love them, I actually would love anything he bought me himself, because he bought it and that is a big ask hehehe. So my Pandora bracelet is filling up.

So you probably may have realised that my husband stayed home with me for the day, lucky me, we went out to breakfast with an Uncle I share my birthday date with, I couldn't get any photos with him because my phone is out of action for now and my camera was at home. But I managed to get a couple of photos up on Instagram of my OOTD. Here they are!! I love this combination of colours and I have been wanting to wear this dress for a long time now but I hadn't got the opportunity to wear it until yesterday.

HANDS ON HIPS

HANDS DOWN

I loved this outfit of the day, Casual but pretty.

We pretty just mucked around for the day, went to go and see how much it will cost to be my phone fixed, then we both had a nap when we got home. My sister and husband bought Chinese for tea, which was nice we didn't have to cook anything and then, then we had a yummy birthday Cheescake, with was delicious the combination of Almonds and Passionfruit it undeniably one of my favourite Cheesecake combinations. It was yum then to top it of my Sister had a few pressies for me as well. I had a wonderful day it my pretty OOTD.

YUMMY CHEESECAKE

PRESSIES FROM MY SISTER. Thank you. :)
(This photo doesn't do these colours justice unfortunately, I love them)

Thanks to everyone who was apart of my special day, to my husband I love you with all my heart, thank you for loving me just the same, Mum and Dad love you's soo much, to my sisters and brothers who are always there for me, Love yous and your families as well,

Playing catch up

Hey everyone,
I know it has been forever since my last post so many fabulous OOTDs and so many Shopping Hauls I have missed out on, most importantly so many weeks of Aussie Curves Challenges I have missed :( !!
Believe me when I say I have been so busy with nothing else other then LIFE. For the last 8 months I was lucky enough to be allowed to Co-Curate an exhibition called 'Manatunga' the closest english translation for this is 'Heirlooms', basically we are showcasing Historic Maori treasures we hold in our Heritage collection and it has definitely been a huge learning experience for me.

I am also in my last year of full-time study and I cant wait for that part of my life to be done and dusted. Seriously! the majority of the writing I have been doing is essays upon essays. I love the pressure though.

I have however had heaps of time to shop, I absolutely love online shopping,  I especially love my ladies at the City Chic store at St Lukes. Shout out to all of you fantabulous ladies.

On another scale I have recently been watching a lot of Fatshion ladies on YouTube,  which is a whole other ball game again, amazing and very inspirational. I have been recently posting OOTDs on my Instagraam, which is all I have for you at the moment, but now that I have time, Watch this space :).

That is all I have at the moment I hope all is well.

Love and light xox.

Unleashing my fatshion world to my Facebook family

I can't believe I am finally going to do this. For the past 6 months, I can probably say I have been on a bit of a journey (rolling my eyes) hehe, but that is the best word for it. I have always been a lover of fashion, I wouldn't call myself Fashion forward more Fashion adjacent. I have always loved colours and I must admit I have been surrounded by Wahine Maori who love to look fabulous and I can honestly say that Fashion has been my friend at every size I have been. Too many who know me may think that I was very confident in who I was because I always looked like it and talked like I was, I think a lot of you will also know that I am not afraid to speak my mind when it comes to important issues, anyway (stop blabbering).

I am sure at any size, women and men love the feel of a new outfit and I think we can agree that a new outfit can make one feel absolutely fabulous and some days not so fabulous. Last year in my search to find a niche in the blogging industry I came across some Fashion blogs by very inspirational ladies. Inspirational because they weren't your normal Supermodel SIZE 0, they were REAL WOMEN, they were ladies with curves, muffin tops, double chins, rolls (spare tyres), thunder thighs, yep they were ladies like me. I always thought I had good taste and I admit at times I was a little cocky about it, but the more I read these, what I have come to know as FATSHION blogs,  the more I became inspired by these ladies to challenge the boundaries and break the rules.

What boundaries and rules you may be thinking? FASHION RULES! Since I was a size 12 (at the tender age of 13 lol) I have always considered myself to be TOO FAT to wear a BIKINI and so does society because you can't buy a Size 26 bikini in any New Zealand store to date.

But check Gabi out from GABIFRESH (http://www.gabifresh.com/), sporting her STRIPED BIKINI, at a NZ Size 20. Another rule for FAT LADIES is to never wear HORIZONTAL stripes because it makes you look wider, well she's broken TWO major "IF YOUR FAT, DON'T WEAR ....... " Rules and she looks HOT, Bikini by MonifC.

Doesn't she look fabulous. I can read all your thoughts now, your probably thinking " she doesn't even have strecthmarks" or "she doesn't have any wobbly bits", believe me ladies they are there just like yours and mine, she just doesn't care. (plus she has had practice at taking photos) . That is an NZ size 20 lady in a bikini.

I actually think these TOGS are ugly, but it wasn't about what they looked like that day.

Each day I am breaking down walls, I haven't worn a bikini yet, TOGS at a Public beach YES, all summer at WAIHOPAI and on WAITANGI DAY 2013, Army Bay hehe and even at the local POOL yall and you want to know something, no one even cared!! I didn't that is for sure. I am yet to find a bikini I like and when I do I will rock that BIKINI like there is no tomorrow, my goodness to think what I have been restricting myself for all these years just really bums out, no more shorts and singlets for me.

It has been FATSHION bloggers like Gabbi that have given me the courage and believe me it takes A LOT OF COURAGE at the time to try new styles and cuts, break rules and to challenge those boundaries. You may be wondering why the heck I am bothering to write this SHORT STORY hehe, These ladies have also given me the courage to start my own FATSHION Blog that I have been adding to and posting to for the past month, some of you will have noticed some of the photo's I have been taking for a while. I still feel like an amateur, I am still testing things, it is all trial and error, but I wanted to let you all in on a "NOT SO LITTLE SECRET" anymore, I really am the happiest I have been for a very long, long, long, long time. Putting this blog together I have already achieved what I set out to do, my wish now is that I hope to inspire other gorgeous and curvacious ladies to do the same.

YOU ALL KNOW that our own whanau, friends and community are your most harsh CRITICS right, a lot of the time it's not Constructive criticism, especially when you are attempting to do something as DIFFERENT and as UNHEARD of as this, well that is why it has taken me a whole month to finally work the courage up to put this link up. Right now I am taking part in an OUTFIT PHOTO CHALLENGE called AUSSIE CURVES, where ladies are given a theme a week and we are suppose to take photo's of our themed outfit and post them to our blogs. So here it is!!

Winter Blues Moan

Boy oh boy do I have the Winter Blues and it is not even Winter yet. I really have been a bit slack this last month.

My husband has been in Wellington for almost two months now and to be honest it is really quite depressing him being away for so long. Plus he is my main photographer anyway one more week and he shall be home.

I have had heaps of amazing outfits this last month and I haven't even been able to snap any shots of them. I may have to have a fashion show when my husband gets home, just so that I can get these gorgeous outfits up on here. I really do despise the 'SELFIE' shot, I don't like them one bit.

I may have to look in it too buying my a proper camera with and stand and timer, so that I don't need anyone to take photos for me, so if anyone has some suggestions please share.

Along with having the 'Winter Blues' before Winter, I am going to have a bit of a moan. We are a small country and our options are limited when it comes to Plus-size shopping!

So KMART, what is happening will your Plus size collection, what happened to yous?? I have some amazing pieces from you's, but all I have to say at the moment is a huge BOOOOO!!!! Ugly, Ugly, Ugly!!!

FARMERS, WILD CHILD , Oh my goodness, move with the times, I use to get some amazing pieces from you's too, what has happened?????? It is all UGLY, UGLY AND UGLY and has been for quite sometime now. Do you seriously think women in New Zealand are getting smaller!! Is it becoming too costly to produce Plus-sized clothing, answers please, give your faithful customers some answers. It is so annoying that I can't rely on either of these stores to find a nice outfit to step out it. If I was size 16 maybe!! but I am not and I am not the only one in New Zealand COME ON!!!

EZIBUY, SARA, Come on, get some new stuff in already and give us another STORE, that is why you don't sell them, it's because you don't have enough stores, even though I love shopping online, I like a Mall fix or two every week as well. These are three stores I use to shop at religiously, because the prices were good and they USE to have GOOD TASTE, NOT ANYMORE, I am absolutely horrfied at the state all of there Plus-size collections are in!! Jingas first post back and all I am doing is moaning hehe. Sorry about it I just had to get it out there. Because I have been totally unispired by my usual haunts.

On a more happy note, I am really loving City Chic these past few months, Plus I wanted to give a big SHOUT OUT to all the Staff members at City Chic St Lukes, you all make shopping that extra bit fun, Thank you, thank you, thank you all soo much. :)

Aussie Curves - Retro

My goodness this week has been so hectic, I have been trying to do my Retro post all week, I changed my time three times about what I was going to wear. In the end, I went for the polk-a-dots. I must admit that the RETRO LOOK got me thinking very hard about where I wanted to go with this look. Retro to me isn't necessarily what Retro is to others. Retro to me was the Paisley prints, PVC f@#k me boots and huge round glasses, which is definitely not my style at all.

If you were to ask me what Retro Kitchens are all about, then I would be able to give you answers straight way. What I thought was really dumb was that I didn't put two and two together. LOOSER!!

So as I said I changed my mind a few times about my outfit, I was going to go with a repeat offender, my Navy blue and white Sailor Dress, but realised it was Military week next week, so I will leave it for then. Today's chosen outfit is a recent addition to my closet. The style and cut of the dress is something I am very use too, but the polk-a-dots, not so much, but I thought this dress, the shoes and the glasses were very RETRO, once I figured out what Retro was of course hehe.

My husband and I went out this afternoon for a drive and to get some photos, I decided not to go with the Tea Party as I just wasn't felling up to it, however the location got me in the mood to getting some photos taken. Thanks my love.
